Nashville: The Urantia Corps for Spiritual Progress hosted a gathering to celebrate the life of Jesus in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 26th with a new and expanded communion supper consisting of:

Bread: symbolizing the bread of life, the word of God as given through the Son.

Grapes: symbolizing that Christ is the true vine, we are his branches, and that we must joyfully bear the Fruits of the Spirit for His sake.

Cheese: reminding us that Life comes from Life, and we honor the Universe Mother Spirit, the giver of Life.

Wine: symbolizing the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, the living spirit of Jesus, our greatest friend.

“Christianity places all its emphasis on the death of Jesus and his resurrection, but the Urantia Revelation places emphasis on his matchless life, which is presented in this new revelation in incredible detail,” explained UCSP founder, Rebecca Bynum. “Reading part IV of the Urantia Book is like sitting at the feet of Jesus and hearing his teaching directly, plainly and clearly. As the Master said, ‘There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.’”

“We are going through a time of great social change and civilizational reconstruction. And our greatest need is for a revitalized religion based primarily on personal religious experience,” added UCSP member Marti Garlow Leib. “God, the Father, has sent his spirit to indwell our minds and lead us back to him. He is not far away. He is within us.”

Long time Urantia Book activist, Byron Belitsos, also joined the group to introduce his newest initiative, The Rodan Institute, which seeks to foster this new and expanded cosmic religion from a scholarly and philosophical perspective.

“Close study reveals that The Urantia Book’s lengthy account of the life of Jesus builds in a constructive way upon the New Testament record,” says Belitsos, “providing a beautiful bridge for Christians who revere the Bible. It provides hundreds of allusions to the biblical narrative and affirms the doctrine of the Incarnation and all of his great miracles. In fact,” Belitsos continued, “it adds vastly more detail to each event in the life of Jesus, including the crucifixion and the resurrection, and provides a replete record of the missing years of his life. Because we are thrilled by this expanded and life-changing story of the world’s Savior, we join all Christians everywhere in celebrating his life, his divinity, and his superb teachings.

The Urantia Corps for Spiritual Progress believes that it is time to openly and boldly proclaim the Urantia papers as the greatest revelation of our time, and we also feel the need to socialize our religion, engage in acts of loving service, and to reveal this new light of truth at every opportunity. The world is crying out for an expanded revelation of truth and we believe that need is supplied in the Urantia Book.
